idle adjuster screw on 18rgeu Mon, 22 March 2004 06:55 Go to next message
ok in order to get to a decent idle i almost have to have my idle adjuster screw falling off, if i put the spring on it then it usually has enough force throw the screw out of it's hole.
so one begs the question.
1. Is my screw buggered (hmm this sentence sounds weird)
2. is the throttle body thread stuffed.
3. is the idle tuning all wrong
why won't it stay?

sik sx. if you have trouble with air con on - adjust aircon idle up valve. It's a seperate unit located away from the throttle body. You can just turn nob with fingers.

As for not having adjustment. I've never had this problem but would suggest that maybe the channel that allows air in when you open screw is blocked up with something. I'm sure somebody else has had this problem and could give more info
