Toymods swap meet?

ok well this is just an idea that popped up into my head if anyone is interested but anyone ever thought of a swap meet? as i'm sure there are plenty of you who either want to make some bucks of parts you have sitting around or you just want to get rid of them and there may be a few out there who are looking for heaps of parts so perhaps toymods could hold a swap meet, maybe have something set up like only financial members can sell there parts but anyone is welcome to come and look and buy or i don't know something like that, whats everyone think?

Dont worry about this wankers reply.
Yeah mate a swap meet would be good. Just have to find a place that is central for most members and that has enough space as im sure there would be a few people with alot of stuff to get rid of. Maybe we could swap this hyundai wanker for a glass of hot piss or something, thats all he is worth.

yeah well i've been to a couple of swap meets like out at richmond and stuff and sure there was heaps of stuff out there but there wasn't really anything for celica's where if it was all us toymods guys that did it then i'm sure you would be able to find the parts that you need,
anyway it was just an idea but i'll be stuffed if i'm expected to organise one lol i'll leave that up to someone else.

i think its a great idea.
you could ask perhaps a principal of a school if we could use a quadrangle area, or footy field, or maybe ask permission from a council to use a carpark somewhere.
anyways its a great idea but problem for me is that i dont have anything i want to sell anymore heehe

I like this idea a lot.
In the 18mths I've been associated with this group,I've not seen anything like this suggested, and I feel it's something that would be VERY useful. a lot of us are after small bits from time to time, which aren't always worth posting about,or travelling distances to grab.
being able to browse a pile of stuff is always good as well. you invariably remember some other part you need, but forgot about on your way over...
having a booth setup to allow people to become financial at the same time would be worth thinking about as well.
I'd be keen to be in this. say, charge a nominal fee to setup a spot, and this fee goes towards hiring the site for the day. another good chance for the club to promote itself...
Justin...

GIN51E.. this idea was breifly mentioned at the club meeting on monday.... give the board an email (probably aim it at Simon) and see what happens mate.
I too think it would be a good idea.... as i have an AE92 semi-wreck to sell, and wouldnt mind getting my hands on some other parts.
I rekon in the Castle hill Baulkham hills area, local to where the meetings are.... council here is very good with allowing clubs to do that sorta shit... plus there is heaps of places to do it (eg, showgrounds, carparks, churches, community halls etc.

ok well i'll help do most of the organising but if i do it then it wont be happening for about 6 weeks or 7 weeks, if u want it to happen sooner then someone else will have to organise it, but i'd rather someone else deal with the money and all of that like costs of event and maybe bbq costs but i'm more then happy to organise a location and set a date and so forth.
