Just got me some splits.....

Got my Jaycar Response 6.5" splits today in the mail and I have noticed that the tweeters have two pairs of the +ve and -ve plugs (2x +ve, 2x -ve). Just wondering why this is so and should I just hook them as normal (to a pair of +ve/-ve)?
Also is there any problem with the woofers resting on the side intrusion bars in the doors? Got some thin foam in between to reduce bumping but is there any other problems?

they are actually part of the same terminal on the tweeter if you look closely. Just hook up whichever pair is easier
As for the woofers, as long as they dont vibrate, it dont matter.

are these the kevlar splits?
if so, are they going into a sprinter?
if you answered yes to both of the above,
time for me to give something back to my lovely, lovely toyota community
i just installed these in my car, and i am pretty happy with how it turned out, but it took quite a while to install them, as there isnt much space in the doors.
i mounted the tweeters on aluminium strips in the standard 4 inch speaker holes so cunning car theives wont see them on my dashboard.
the woofers took some thought, after cutting away a fair amount of metal on the drivers side, i got sick of it and just made some spacers out of 16mm MDF to make it a bit easier, trial fitted them a hundred times and then bit the bullet and cut the holes for them.
they fit perfectly now and dont vibrate against anything.
to run wires into the doors, i bought some clear flexible tube from bunnings and ran it through a hole i made in the removable rubber plug/seal that is in the door (kinda oval shaped) the drilled holes in the body, installed grommets and ran the wire through, make sure you use pipe big enough to fit the speaker cable easily inside it, its very hard to push/pull through.
if you like i will measure the distance from the edge of the doorskin to the edge of the speaker grille, it will save you heaps of trouble.
oh yeah, as a point of interest, the "reciept and general shit holder" in the drivers door would have got int the way of the speaker, so i pissed it off. it has loads of japanese writing on it and the inscription "AE85" so there is a bit to add to the "is an AE86 an AE85 discussion"
have fun!

pretty good, althoguh im no audiophile, im still comoing to terms with having one speaker "really close to my right ear firing sound at my foot" and one speaker "really far away firing pretty much at my ear"
but im happy with them for what i paid.
i need to do some more testing, my car is sitting in my back yard with a busted ass 4AC (to clarify, its actually broken, i know all 4ACs are pretty busted ass) so the battery goes flat pretty quick.
oh yeah, and you will need some sort of sub in the boot too, naturally!

what do you mean?
these are the kevlar splits right? the crossovers are marked + and -, from memory the tweters and the woofers are marked + and - too.
if not, then plug the wires into the speakers the only way they will go (small plug goes on small spade, big plug goes on big spade) then clamp them to the crossover in this way
copper colored cable goes onto positive, silver colored cable goes to negative.
easy as that!

Well I finished it all today but...
I know everything was labelled +ve -ve except for the tweeters. They just had plugs which meant nothing really. At first I plugged into one pair of plugs and it did nothing. Then I plugged one from each pair and off it went. The tweeters have 1 large plug and one short but fat plug in each pair.
I just made sure that +ve and -ve are the same way around on each tweeter (not sure if its the correct way round though ).

Apart from my little dilema with one of the woofers, all of it sounds great. The splits and the 6x9s do an awesome job.
