hey all.. Shocked

i'm contemplating doing a rfont/rear rotors and calipers conversion on my ae82. i have a mate with a cordia turbo and he's just swapped his front rotors/calipers for tn magna rotors/calipers and now his cordz stops like a ferrari.

i was just wondering if anyone knows any compatible hub assemblies that would fit onto the ae82 setup?? i've been considering a camry swap, but i've never seen this done before Rolling Eyes .

provided that i can get the camry hub assemblies to sit on my ae82 struts/lower control arm/tierods would i also have to upgrade the master or the booster??

and as far as i know camrys in the mid 80's were 5 stud...is there anything that i could use which would still keep the 4*100 stud pattern?? Confused does anyone know how the 1st series mr2 brakes compare to the stocky twincam items??

any help/advice at all would be very much appreciated. thanks guys

=====cheers, roman=========================================

I am currently running brakes from an AE111 corolla on my ae82, straight swap, bolt in drive away, car stops on a dime. Its an excellent upgrade.

I also sold last year a set of twin spot ae101 levin gtz calipers and rotors to a fella in sydney cause I couldn't afford to get 15's to fit the brakes under, they where slightly bigger than the ae111 rotors and needed just the littlest amount of machning to make them fit and the twin pot calipers would surely make it worth it.

Ae92 SX brakes are also bigger than the ae82twin cam ones (both front and rear) you'd need to get new mounts made up for the rear ones if you want to use them. I have a set of ae92 rears if you're interested.

So there's a couple of options for you.

Hope this helps.

thanks andrew..

yeah, obviously the ae101/ae111 upgrade is an option (but a bit on the pricey side), but i was kinda hoping to find something thats really common (camry, celica, etc) cos that way i'd be able to pick it up from the wreckers real cheap.

but thanks for the ideas tho. what about aw11 mr2 brakes??

I was lucky enough to get my set of ae111 brakes at a really good price of fergo(on these forums). I can't say I know if aw11 brakes would be much better/worth upgrading, but guess you're gonna have to ask the mr2 boys that.
