none ... get a renovation report from the archicentre, who will organise a real architect (not some poncy interior decorator git ) to plan your whole place with your ideas as the key, rather than the designers current infatuation...

...well worth the expense if your serious about re-doing your house.

its just one room though ?!

All I am looking to buy to hot it up is:

plasma, DVD + surround sound, venetian/holland blinds, lounge set ... dont think i need an architect for all that do i ?

Go to len wallis audion at lane cove they have a design service for home theatreincluding matching materials to rooms and absorbing sound reflection etc as most audiophile want to do.

IKEA is good for getting ideas, but I find their furniture very tacky and low quality.

No, IKEA is just low quality wrapped in a veneer of plastic. Fibreboard with vinyl wrapped around it. It's not proper wood by any stretch of the imagination.
