Im sure a filter over the hole isnt legal (plus it leaves shit on the underside of your bonnet). drill a small hole (12mm ish) and put a fitting into that.........

The setup I have seen doesnt have a small inline valve but an electronic job......about the size of 2 matchboxes stacked on top of one another. A valve is not necessary but preffered.........

We were using a hose straight from the centre of the cover to the rear of the filters without a valve, but the filters kept getting clogged with oil.
To fix this we put a tube from the cover to a catch can and then a tube from the catch can to the filters, it has made a big difference, but still is not perfect.
We couldn't find a PCV valve for the G so that was what we had to do.
The filters that attach to the top of the cover hole are not legal.
