2zz flows very well. not many people are playing with them.

i'm trying to find someone who does aftermarket cams for them. toyota only does high c/r pisotns, exhaust primary & muffler.

are you still riunning it in the corolla/celica or something else?

well since I spun my rod bearings I descided to polish and port the head. There is a lip, and a weld scar on the intake side. The lip is only about .051mm but it is there. My combustion chamber has 85,000 mi on it . Didn't look too bad but it wasn't perfect So I will be cc that once I finish with the valves and seats. Speaking of seats there is quite a large edge protruding from the valve seat that the air hits on the way to the combustion chamber ( .625 - 1.3mm). Not sure if this is significant but I was thinking of polishing them off.

If I ever finish the 2zzge it is going back into my celica. The next thing will be a baffel for the oil pan. Don't know about cams. Have you tried the newcelica.org web site?

cams are hollow with brased on lobes - not like "normal" toyota cams. new ones are available from toyota, but no different grinds

we have a motor here that has ~40psi every cylinder. we may rebuild & hot it up - if so we will get it flowbenched & see what we can do to the ports.

well you aussies seem to get in a lot deeper than anyone up here in bolt on land. Hollow cams with brazed on lobes sounds like it has potential. Making the hot lobes even hotter and keeping the low speed for street driving is one of my favorite daydreams ( i mean besides..............). Now you got me thinking about a flow bench.

I was just persuing this web site and noticed the unshrouded valves. I wonder if this is significant ? The idea came from this web http://lowbugget.com/headpricing_street_heads.html
i attached a pic of the head if it is of interest take if a look otherwise dump it. I am trying to determine if all those edges should be softened
