4A-GZE smoke issues Sun, 28 March 2004 10:17 Go to next message
is it normal for a 4A-GZE to blow smoke?
got a friend who has a 4A-GE and says that his was blowing a fair bit from a 40000km old engine.
just trying to work out if its worth rebuilding it coz i dont really want to be driving around in a car which is creating clouds of smoke, ya know?

when a 4cyl starts sounding like a rex motor it usually means its dropped a cylinder, not sure if that is any use to you whatsoever though Smile

i havent actually changed the oil since i got it about 6 or 7 weeks ago

probably should. why do i feel its going to be a bit of a mission? Razz

got a recommendation to put a thinner oil in. dont know if thats a good idea since its blowing smoke though.
