i was just thinking... 3S-GTE and 3S-GE is the GTE simply a GE with a turbo? or is there a lot more of a difference? and if that's the case could i make mine a 3S-FTE ?!?

not knowing too much about 3s engines, heres what i know.
3 = engine series number S = engine series code (S family) G = G head, "sport" head, angled and designed for more hp. F = F head, "economy" head, designed for torque T = Turbo E = EFI
from wat ive read, it would be possible, to make a 3sfte but why? a g head is what is in the mr2s and gt4s. you dont want a camry head on ur turbo plant!
or maybe it might be like the whole turboed G head and F head 4AxE engine debate, and be a whole new can of worms altogether that i have no idea about.
hope this helps

There are many, many, many differences between 3S-GTE and 3S-GE...

Err.. I'm not a real expert on 3S's, but I'm pretty sure there are minor differences in the block, more oil return lines or something like that. There's not that much that's the same about them except in dimensions I think..

and the 3s-GTE has part-forged internals, to deal with that turbo hanging off it I'm fairly sure the 3S-GE and 3S-FE dont have the forged internals
