i know i know...it's silly...but i've no idea. Just installed a boost meter proper. 0 is at 12 o'clock..then 5 10 14 etc and the opposite is in reverse i think. So when i start it goes anti clock to 20..psi vacumm ?
So how much boost is good and right and how should it be actually ?
cheers

when idling, you should be reading negative (anticlockwsie) as the manifold is under vacuum and the turbo is not boosting. when driving along, NOT boosting, you should see numbers, still in the negative, but less so than at idle, even aproaching zero...
then once you hit boost, the dial will swing clockwise, and start reading positive pressure. how much? depends what car, engine, and how youve set things up.

Just to add what i noticed today, crusing at 100 km.
Boost gauge reads -5-10 PSI...is this right ??...When i floor the pedal, and when boost comes on..it's moving towards 5-10 psi positive, Is this normal ??
cheers

yep, that's normal.
when you're cruising, the throttle is only partly open (you're not flooring it) so the turbo is not spooling fast enough to make boost .
Think of it like this (even though it's not comprehensive): the further you put your foot to the floor, the more boost you'll make
