Wiring methods - 1JZ into other cars. Mon, 29 March 2004 08:12 Go to next message
Just wondering how people went about wiring there ecu when fitting a JZ or similiar into another type of vehicle. Did you use all the original circuit opening relays and power feeds or did you just look at the wiring diagrams and make your own power feeds to the ecu.
Also does anyone have a link or document explaining the abbreviations used on Toyota wiring diagrams.
And does anyone know why the JZA70 and JZX81 ecu's have the flying lead plug coming out of the top of the ecu when JZZ3* don't.
Thanks for any help.

my car has no original corona wiring in it. I would not recommend doing it this way Smile

I am not sure about your other questions.

If the original car was a Toyota EFI equipped car then yes - keep all the original stuff & use it.
I am just going through this with a MA61 and it's all basically there (cct opening relay, Main relay, EFI relay) - just have to tap into it in the right places.
What sort of abbreviations are you chasing info on? Connectors/pinouts/wire colours?

Regards

Peter
