O2 & Speed Sensor

Hello toymods!
my O2 sensor is busted and i'm on a tight budget. i would like to know if i can replace my O2 sensor with a variable resistor?
i think my O2 sensor is not the heated type judging from my ECU pin out which doesn't have an HT... but it has an Ox pin out. am i right?
and about the speed sensor ECU input (SPD)... how can it be bypassed? do i have to leave it unconnected, ground it or apply +12V?
thank you very much!

it might help if you told people what car/engine you had.

One of the guys on here said he got an 02 sensor for about $60 for a 4AGE, or is that too expensive for you? Stewart has had more elaborate 4 wire (with heater etc) for around that same price also but 4age is just a 1 wire standard.

i beleive if you disconnect the speed sensor it will make the 'check engine' light stay on. what car is this in?

I was the one who got an Echlin oxy sensor for $65. My car ran a little rich without it but didnt affect performance.
What do you want to do with the speed sensor?
If you dont have it connected you will have no speed cut but it will give an error code.
