Since lots of you guys have done engine conversion to ur AE86s. I just want to collect some info to do mine one later. 4AGE conversion.
1.Where is the place you get your custom made exhaust manifold? And do you thing that is a good price? 2.Where is the place you get the modification of the intake? And do you think that is a good price? (this one I've quoted with someone for $150.)
And is there another things I've got to do for the conversion?? Please tell me anything I've forgortten. Thanks for any help.

Frankly, I decided to save myself most of the hassles & have sourced an original Blue Hat engine & gearbox straight out of a Jap AE86 (including manifolds, sensors, ECU etc) so I don't really need to worry about these things & just bolt the sucker in.
Um ... it's harder if you get parts separately as you'll not only have to look for just the engine but also other parts such as a RWD manifold, extractors etc. If you're tight on a budget, it'll be cheaper to get everything together.
Even though I'm in Brizzy, I've ordered stuff from SSS Automotives in Sydney (the service is great) BUT bear in mind parts for AE86 are rare these days. Most importers I've contacted don't ship AE86 parts in anymore because they're virtually non-existent. As such, prices are going up so be prepared to be in for a shock. Damn this Initial D craze!
God forbid but I ended up shelling $$$ for a complete motor package from JMS given that they were the only people to stock a complete setup with ECU. At least I get a spare gearbox to keep for a rainy day in the process. The strange thing though is the price I paid (including postage) was a lot lower than what they quoted on their web page ... perhaps they wanted to get rid of it?
I've just received the engine overnite and it's in good condition for it's age. Looks like it was worth it now but the only thing missing is the oxygen sensor. I got the manifolds & extractors though.
Also, I've been told that the drive shaft in the 4AGE engines are apparently a different size so your 2 piece drive shaft in the 4AC Sprinter won't fit? You may have to get a custom drive shaft as well to fit both ends. Anyone else can confirm this?
My baby undergoes her operation in about a fortnight so she'll be out for a while.
Cheers!

would the engine just fits in the 4AC gearbox? Some one has told me this, so I want to know is it true that I need a custom make drive shaft.
and yeah I was planning to get everything at once. But coz I was wanted a 100kw 4AGE istead of a 96kw one. But now I think a 96 kw one is more convenience. Coz I can get the extrator as well, and no need to modify the intake manifold.
But here comes a question, will the extrator of the 4AGE fit in the stock Sprinter exhaust system? If not, it's like I will still have to custom make some exhaust component. Then this way I might just go get the whole thing done include the extrator, and get a 100kw 4AGE.
So can you tell me how much you paid for that engine??
My god, I am getting confuse...some say is easy for the conversion, but it's now getting hard. I just don't know what I should get for the engine conversion.

I wouldn't get discouraged as heaps of people have done it already. Just that when you go into the conversion in detail, it's a lot of stuff to do BUT bear in mind that a 4AGE 88kw RWD Blue Hat engine will be perhaps the easiest & cheapest conversion you can do apart from replacing the stock 4AC with another 4AC.
I have budgeted for a custom exhaust given that once I replace the 2 piece drive shaft with the single one, the old exhaust won't be able to be used ... just look under the car ... a 1 piece shaft will stick out somewhat unlike the old 2 piece so the exhaust that runs across the shaft will no longer fit.
Yes ... the ol' T-50 box will bolt in as they are virtually the same as the Japanese Treuno & Levin gearbox so you can use this & cut on costs.
I've heard that the 100kw engine makes the car go like hell however you will have to source a RWD manifold (couple went in the sale section couple of days ago) & ECU. I'm lazy so I decided on the Blue Hat instead (& also for that AE86 originality vibe).
As for price, each motor package is unique but nothing stops you from giving Japanese Motorsports in Adelaide an email:- jms@cobweb.com.au
They may have another 4AGE lying around. I paid less than their advertised price but with postage to Qld cost $1,650 all in. Bear in mind though this included ECU, manifold, extractors, gearbox, loom etc from another AE86. Another wrecker quoted me $2,200 for a similar deal (without postage) so you just have to shop around to see if you can find one. Think outside of Sydney and you'll open new horizons. I'm just amazed that Adelaide seems to get all the good stuff.
Good luck with your conversion. Now it's just an issue of insurance for me ... my annual $130 3rd party NRMA insurance policy will no longer be valid ...

ummm to clear some things up here
* yes t50 from 4ac bolts straight up * NO you don't need a new driveshaft ur current one is fine
differnce between 100kw and the 86kw is not much when it actually comes to the dyno. Mine ended up being like 4kw off the 100kw ae86 and even to the 100kw ae92, though I do have aftermarket computer.
u have to remeber other things like clutch and fuel pump

its a little harder than u just needing a bigger fuel pump. U are going from carby to EFI. So u need to get a high pressure electric fuel pump which will be located at the rear of the car, u can go either internal to the fuel tank or external. Mines external which makes it rather loude.
Mine was actually out of a Sprinter like Dodgy_Haro so I had the stock manifold/extractor system. I actually got a full 2 inch exhaust with it too which was cool.
I got a heavy duty cluch for $50 from Rod off his old 4age that blew up
Depending on what ur clutch is in there now, im not sure if it will take the 4age if u give it some abuse, though I have no idea as I never used my original clutch.
