Weekend adventure. Tue, 30 March 2004 01:25 Go to next message
Saturday night. Me, the kindly brother, am conned into transporting my sister, and her friends to a party, using dads car. Now, this party was kind-of in the stix, on a narrow dirt road with sharp corners and no street lights, so I had my highbeams on. As I drove closer to the party, there were people walking away from the party, and groups of people, whom I will henceforce refer to as "the dickheads" swore at me to turn my highbeams off. This was just before the cest of a hill, and as I'd seen people hooning up and down this road, I wanted to make sure anyone coming the other way would know I was there. When I didn't, they took a kick at the tyre as I drove past, to which I stuck my head out the window and told them to kindly F*ck Off.

Arrive at the party, sister decides that it is full of yobbos and people were starting the leave anyway, so she thought it best to go home. Turn the car around, start driving down the road. Drive past a few of the straggling dickheads, only to see one of the them standing in the middle of the road with a steel reflector held high. I stopped, sister knew him from other parties apparently, and managed to convince him to just keep walking.

Now, his mate was standing at the window, and in amongst the "bro's, foo's and wassup's", he made an attempt to apologise for his buddy. I figured since he was apologising, everything was now ok, and I wanted to find out why the other guy was so angry, just incase he decided to take a swipe at the car when I drove past him again.

This is where my ignorance of the nuances of westernised ebonics took hold, and I made the mistake of saying:

"What was his problem?"

Which apparently translates into:

"Please take your shirt off, tell me not to start on your "bro", and start punching me in the head through the window. Call your mates and have one of them smash the windscreen of the car with a reflector."

Eventually they left, I called the cops, and forty mintues later, after they had dealt with a car down the road which was overloaded, they took my report. Luckily I had their names from witnesses.

Holy shit I hate dickheads.

i think you failed this test:
what to do if a westie-dickhead stands in the middle of theroad with a blunt object attempting to prevent you from passing?

A - turn around and try again later,
B - slowly drive up to them and sort it out amicably, or
C - run them down like a rabid dog.

invariably, folk with any sense attempt B or A whereas the correct answer is obviously C.

why? cause these guy's usually can't hit a bus with a stick without one of their limbs becoming attached to the moving vehicle, and most time's they'll chicken out at the last minute.

... must be the water in them rural blocks...

You should carry some golf clubs with you in the car for the next set of dickheads that start trouble with you and also some fire works to scare them.

Yep, had I been in the celica, and not dads falcon, I would have kept driving. Not fast, just enough for him to get out of the way. But I figured a few decent hits to dads car as I passed would be worth several $$$, whereas the ra28's trusty steel would have just laughed at him. I also could have appealed to the toymods community for any spares I may have needed afterwards. Razz

Anyways, its turned out I was pretty lucky. Apparently they stopped on a corner and were throwing rocks and bottles at cars. One guy got hit in the jaw by a bottle flying trough his window.

On the golf club idea, whilst I would've liked nothing more than to beat them senseless, these guys probably have no prospects, so would have nothing better to do than turn it into some stupid on-going vendetta with the help of their "cuz's". The guy with the reflector was 17 apparently, and does this kind of shit all the time because his older brother is on hand to bail him out, with the help of a few carloads of dull-witted wankers.

This is the main reason why the baseball bats in the car (right next to a softball/tennis ball if cops ask).

Fuck that
My club lock is also called the Westie Basha. Hence no need to explain to police. (unless you haven't cleaned it...)
