Turbo bearing temps? Tue, 30 March 2004 12:26 Go to next message
I'm just wondering what kind of temps the bearing housing would see on a turbo. And I do mean the the bearing housing that is oil/water cooled, not the compressor or turbing housing.

Anyone have any rough ideas?

According to Corky Bell's book, the bearings inside a water cooled turbo won't get hotter than about 150 degrees C (just below the coking temperature of oil).

Regards
