How does one usually go about fitting one?

you should get some brakcets with the bucket seats you then have to bolt/weld them to your original seat rails.
you might have to get them enginered

i got cordia bucket seats in mine. it was a cunt of a day it took me and my mate all day just 4 the driver seats
we had to get the rails form my old ke70 seats and put it on the bucket seat then we had to weid a metal piece so the rails would fit. put seats bolted staright in no worries.

You mite want to consider that because of the new ADR's rules 2,3 . There is only one brand of seat which are aftermarket that comply for engineering at the moment . I would check with a engineer before going ahead if the car is for road use . Saas are the only seats with this at the moment , FIA , CAMS etc approved seats cannot be engineered for the road , unless the engineer is very dodgy , then you pay the price if you have a accident .
Which car are the seats for , is there another version / or seat which bolts straight in ?

This is not correct. Sparco, Velo, and Recaros are all fine for street use once engineered!

As are OBX, says so with the two ADR and safety labels sewn onto the seats.

And when did you last check the rules .. Tonight .. I don't know which state you are in , but i just went to buy some Seats here in Victoria from Revolution Race Gear , Pro Sparco model , asked there if they had any ADR complying seat , They said "no sure thing anymore" , I thought this was a be strange so called Brown Davis Motorsport who build ADR seat fitting kits for 4x4 etc and cars , and build Cams approved roll cages , And got the answer that the Rule had changed , and the only Seats which comply are Saas . So then to get a second opinion i call a engineer from the Vic Roads list , he didn't know too . He called me back after checking because he had been on Holidays and was not sure , And the answer was the same .... I feel i sorry my friend who just brought some Sparcos , top of the line model to , and just took his car to be engineered .
I think i would pay to check in your state , and sure the engineer may not give a shit , just watch it if you get pulled over and your car taken away for three months .

SAAS CAR SEATS
ADR standards cannot be taken as a measure of complete safety as those regulations are only the basis for average build car drivers and passengers, to delivering better safety you need better products. To achieve the highest standards in design and performance, SAAS has pushed ahead with an upgrade program that ensures all its seats not only meet the exsisting standards but better them. Ordinary road seats are arranged to comply with ADR 3 and 22A, while those set basic parameters for the structure and head restraint safety during impact, the regulations are designed around what is considered an average height and weight occupant. The basis of this aspect of safety is for the belt to combine with the seat to hold an occupant firmly in position within the car. As part of the on-going upgrade of SAAS seats, the structure and adjustment facilities are all designed to be stronger and exceed the ADRs by a substantial margin. The resulting lift in strength gives both prolonged shape for long-term comfort as well as increased safety.

I asked the question on Friday of last week about seats. My engineer informed me what seats are perfectly ok all of the list above plus more were mentioned. So unless the rule changed last night which I doubt, then I am perfectly correct.
I think you have been talking to cheap people who have been importing these seats them selves from the states. All seats to be engineered MUST be bought from Australian distributors.

Good for you . Which state are you in , Queensland . I was just stating that i am in Victoria . And this is the rule here . And where is Shotgun from "Auckland, New Zealand" .
And i am stating if you read the post , is it not to hard to check in the state you are in .
As for the cheap people i have mentioned Just look at almost every race class and car in Victoria and you will find 90% of them have had something from Revolution Race Gear . And there are only a few CAMS approved places to get a cage from here , so i guess 30% of the cars have been to Brown Davis
too .
I am perfectly correct , i would never say that , unless you write the ADRS . I don't want to argue this will you , i was informing you of the rules i am aware of in this state .
I will not bother to comment on this any more , sorry you know best .
