im so damn angry!! grr just paid to get my 4 cylinder tacho recalibrated to 6, well that part is fine
but i used to have a cheap tacho that bounced when it hit say 4k and wouldnt read any higher, now this tacho is doing the same thing
i thought maybe the wires werent thick enuff to handle the current so i placed a thicker earth, thicker ignition and a thicker signal wire, still no difference
has anyone else had this problem? or know how to fix it??
currently im getting the signal from the ignitor ill get a pic
cheers guys

Craig
Go into the gallery on this site. Look in the first TechDocs folder and click on the 1G ECU pdf. Go to the bottom of the connections that I have scanned to the last plug. Remember when you wired your car you had 3 computer plugs and 2 other plugs. One of these plugs primarily covered connections to the dash - pin number 22 is the feed to the taco. And no u don't need thicker wires as there is no current involved - u just nee the right wire. Give me a ring if you are having more trouble

its fairly simple, 4 wires generally
*dash lights
*ign
*earth
*tacho feed
with the oil pressure and temp will depend if they are mechanical or electrical

Steve,
Tacho boosters are $98 and very easy to install; only 4 wires.
What wiring loom and I doing?

i dont think we are talking about the same thing here
i got my tacho converted so it reads that of a 6 cylinder not 4 cylinder, say if i was reving it to 4k it would show 6k cause of the extra 2 cylinders, i got that problem fixed
i believe grant tacho booster boost the tacho signal cause it has coil pack unlike the oginal cressy engine am i right?

Correct. The answer I gave was in response to FKN16V's question. I wasn't trying to hijack the thread.
