Problem.
I thought the dash light blew, so i took it out now the whole instrument cluster is buggered, only a few things work such as the door light. the tacho, temp gauge, speedometer etc, blinkers etc dont work. but they were working before i took the instrument cluster out :// I think its not getting power to all the components, i have checked all the fuses...connections. The board doesnt look damaged. btw the car is an 87 Camry
Any one got any ideas ?
cheers

Its unlikely the cluster is totalled.
If you unplugged it while battery connected, may have copped a short and to ground , look closely for any burned tracks on cluster.
If so any breaks can be linked across with wire and soldered.
If only indicators not working check cables, plugs (may have partially unplugged while working under dash.) or Flasher unit itself (test by replacement.)
Pull cluster out again for a close look with a strong light behind.
Before checking with a meter and schematic, can try system approach and try swapping another from wrecker...or head down to your local autoelectric.
Good Luck!

Another thought...there is a regulator on cluster(approx $10) which may have popped......

get a test light and check all wires goin to dash
one should only have power when ignition is on
if u dont have power then a fuse is blown
if u do have power then trace the wore
usually on back of dash there are symbols
like g
ig
tach
these mean something
look for omne like ig which is ignition

Thanx for the replies guys,
I checked all the connections and fuses and all seems good. There doesnt look like anything has burnt on the cluster but i will definatly check this regulator.
I also used a test light and some wires are getting power, but not all even when the ignition is on. Big mistake i did was take it apart while the battery was connected so as pedroenglish said it could be a short. I am taking it to the autoelectrics tomorrow cause i just dont have time to fiddle around with it. And i can keep driving without blinkers especially on P's. The Autoelectric charge $75 just to look at it. I bet its something so little and stupid ohwell. I'll try one more time in the morning and if no luck, straight to the Autoelectrics. Once again thanx guys
Cheers

Well the problem was fixed, and indeed it was something so little and stupid which set me back $80 oh well. Firest problem was a blown fuse which i overlooked, second was the blinkers werent working because the harazrd light swith wasnt connected, and thirdly the dashboard backlight dont work because there is a short on the board. well its off to the wreckers

Maybe you shouldve done that in the first place. Paying $80 to fix somethingas simple as that, dont go back there, it wouldve been cheaper to go to the wreckers in the first place.
