ok first off the manifold or watever it is..it has a crack that goes about 3/5 around one of the pipes(pic below)..it looks strong and still noirmal doewsnt make any weird noises..just wandering if it is ok

ok next i dont know what it is..it hooks up to a small pipe something to do with emissions i think i looked it up in the manual but there wasnt much info on it..bascially the little pin broke up..im thinking i might just super glue it
http://genji.image.pbase.com/u42/adams_sx/upload/27520346.emissionorsomehtingpin.jpg
ok next is somehting off the silver t-vis thing..its located at the bottom of it and the little black breather or somehting broke off..thinking i might super glue that to

ok that will do for now any ideas on what i could do etc would be much appreciated..also i got a new gear knob and it loks high..so im thinking i might just cut the gear stick down a tad..and i had to buy a new lower timing belt cover for 55..is this an ok price? also all up the rebuild has costed me about 800 to do..is this an ok price..that is all up for parts..like every gasket and head work and everything

dude, take some better photos.. those are awful, some of which you can't even make out what part of the engine it is, let alone which clip broke.

See if you can borrow a friends camera or something.

Please try to be a bit more descriptive with the parts as well. "Manifold or watever it is".. inlet manifold, exhaust manifold?? The pics make it *look* like the inlet manifold. Either way, cracking 3/5ths around the pipe is probably going to be bad. Replace it.

Toyota can supply you with new clips etc. Take the old one down and tell them where it goes and they can look up the EPC for you. Once again, try to be more descriptive.. what does the clip plug into??

The "thing" in your "Emission something pin" picture is your water junction. I can't remember exactly what the bit that broke off does, but I can look tonight on my spare engine.

Can't help you with the TVIS one, the picture is far too blurry.

Your gearknob is back to front, turn it 180 degrees and it will be a lot more comfortable.

$55 for the lower timing belt cover seems fair.

Yeah, so take some better pics, and give better descriptions and we may be able to help you more.

THat 'T-VIS' thing is part of either the idle or tvis VSV (vacuum switching valve) glueing it back together should be okay as long as you don't use too much glue and block up the hole.

If that crack is on your intake manifold, it's probably not cheap to get it welded (being aluminium). If it's your exhaust, try and pick up some off the shelf extractors because the standard exhaust isn't anything to write home about Smile

I'll have a look tonight maybe at where those clips go etc.

I just don't want to ask how you managed to bust up so much stuff! Here's hoping you are a little more careful with the rest of the rebuild Smile

You could've picked up a second hand lower timing belt cover for about 20.

While you've got the head off. Make sure that you get the bucket shims adjusted, replace the cam shaft seals and put on a new timing belt!

Also check the distributor housing. I've seen so many of these things break near the base of the shaft housing it's not funny. It's more aluminium welding if it has Sad

My rebuild would have cost me a similar amount all up in terms of parts (and labour for head work), which included new engine bearing, new seals, new piston rings etc...the rear main seal and timing belt pulleys blew the cost out to hell afterwards because i didn't replace them while I had the car apart and didn't have time to do the job myself. I'm kicking myself about that to this day Smile
