Anyone played with Dual Sway bars?

I was toying with the Idea of using the swaybars of my parts car to run dual swaybars...
Now I've heard of it being done, but how exactly do you mount / attach the sway bars to each other (especially at the point where they usually mount to the chassis via the D brackets).
I figure a clasp sort of method could be used at the other points, but the chassis mounting points are something I'm not sure of...
Any input at all on this would be appreciated
Cheers

Lots of rx2's and i think rx3's run a cut down front bar doubled and mounted underneath the stock bar on brackets like gianttomato's pic . With the bracket on the outer edges being able to move i think the madza setups made the bar adjustable too.
You could maybe try a mazda place .

Yep, that's right - you move the brackets that hold the ends to adjust the amount of stiffness.

Call a company called stauff hydraulics. You may be able to use a pipe clamp that looks exactly like GT's drawing or alternately they also come in single units that can be stacked.

Fantastic GT, thats exactly what I was thinking! I'll grab the swaybars off my parts MX62 and chop the ends off
About how much range of adjustment of stiffness (via moving the clamps) is there? And how much of a stiffness improvement from stock? Also aluminum should be fine as a medium to manufacture the mounting block out of shouldn't it (thinking of something with a width of about 20mm)
Thanks heaps guys

Aluminium would be fine and I'd have thought that 20mm would be more than ample. If using aluminium, I'd strongly recommend helicoiling the threads otherwise they will strip with repeated tightenings.

My brother did it with his RA28, and it worked great.
Just make yourself some new brackets and bolt them on, make yourself some new bushings to mount the second one to the suspension arm bolt thingy, and cut a bigger hole in the chassis to fit them both through.
It was really easy, it cost all of about thirty bucks (using left over urethane chunks we scored from a urethane technicians big) and it makes a huge difference to the handling.
We just used 3mm steel flat bar tofor brackets (just bent and drilled) with some 12mm urethane spacers between the two bars and between the bars and the bracketry bits.
Oh so technical!

i was just gonna get some u-bolts with retainers and clamp another swaybar to the other one, completely ghetto style. only as a temporary fix however until i can be bothered getting an aftermarket job.
