Hey guys,

Went to Mudgee and had a shitload of fun on the dirt roads. The problem is that my left rear shock is rooted.

So now I'm looking for new rear shocks.

I was running Sens-A-Tracs which were made for CommonDoors (50% heavier but tuned for comfort) and I'm looking for something a bit harder to balance out the front end.

Anyone got any recommendations?

Got a few prices...

K-Mac: $325 for the pair
KYB: $70.41ea (From Whiteline)
Koni Yellows: $150.74ea (From Whiteline)

I'm pretty shocked that the K-Macs are more expensive than the Koni Yellows! I would've thought the adjustables would be more expensive!

I've been told that Koni Reds only come for the front of the RA60. Yellows for the rears.

You sure it was an RA60? Not the IRS RA65?

yeah it was definatly the ra60 because it was the last car i sold and i cut the springs down a coil and i went out the back of narangba on the 4wd tracks for a bit of a floggin Rolling

i havnt yet to date bought any new suspension for a ra65 except i used the standard ma60 suspension which felt a bit harder but that could be because the previous setup was stuffed from the 4wd tracks at narangba Smile

Please make a note of this - any Koni model (which is rebuildable model to begin with) can be re-valved by authorized Koni service shop.

This means that if for example only red models are available (i.e. Koni Special) fo particular application, it can be re-valved to perform exactly like yellow (Sport) Koni.

I read a very informative BMW enhusiasts site some time ago. He wasn't happy with Sport Koni's dampening - even when cranked to max. Okay, he took shocks off and had a service shop to re-valve them. That finally did the job. His M3 is tearing up asphalt like never before.
