Best size wheels for AE86??

Hi guys, Was wondering what the best size rims are for sprinters? I was thinking 15" to 16" max, but not sure on what width for the rim or what type of rubber would be best for "sprited" street driving.
Was also wondering what your views on aesthetics were? I think I will be going a deep dish style wheel, but what size looks better on the AE86? 15" or 16"
Thanks heaps for any info, Adrian!

I reckon a 15x6" - 15x7"(if you can get the correct offset) wheels are the go for street AE86s.
good balance between comfort(decent sidewall "bounce"),and control(good sidewall resistance to flexing).
I run a 205/50/R15 tyre on 15x6" rims atm,and wouldn't do anything different bar going a touch wider in the rim.
my ROH rims are for sale if anyone is interested. they look very similar to the old R31 skyline alloys. 15x6" $400 without rubber.

Go with 16s, if you wanted comfort you'd buy a Lexus!

There are only two reasons to go bigger than 15" on a street car: - looks - big brakes.
I'm actually staying with 14" rims on my RA23 Celica, I find they work just fine. My brakes fit inside them and I don't really care what it looks like (although IMO old Celicas look better with smaller rims), so why bother forking out for bigger rims and more expensive tyres?

sure, and if you have cash to waste, and don't mind having a choice of falken ziex,or federals for tyres,go for 16's.
if you want a wide choice of rubber, and at decent prices,go for 15's. up to you of course...

Last time I checked there were quite a number of reasonably priced rubber from a number of manufacturers for 16s.
If you don't want to spend the money then stick with the wheels you have now and I'm sure for 85s there must be a zillion bankok bridgestone's you can get.
Certainly 16s may be a little on the excessive side but looks and big brakes are not the only reason (though I see your point) you would fit 16s. Looks etc are certainly a factor when someone decides to fit 15s...........

So apart from aesthetics and brake clearance issues, why would you put 16" wheels on an AE86?

Wheel aesthetics and brake clearance are already two good reasons. The other being more rim, less tire for pretty much the same diameter as standard. Which equates to better handling due to less side wall flex and so on.
I personally like the idea of 16s on a sprinter obviously some people don't, whooppeee.
