Checked your crossmember bolts lately?? Sun, 04 April 2004 08:11 Go to next message
I had to pull my cross member out today and to my surprise I found this:

http://members.iinet.net.au/~shanej/Bolts/P0002574.JPG

I had to cut the head of this bolt and knock it through from the top because it was just too rusted. You'll also notice in the above picture that bolt looks bent, it actual fact its just that one side is more rusted than the other.
All the other bolts were heavily rusted as well but not as bad, you can see the other pictures here: http://members.iinet.net.au/~shanej/Bolts/
When I get around to putting the cross member back in I'll be packing the bolt holes with axle grease to help prevent this as I hate to think what would happen if they let go on the drag strip Confused

K frame? Huh?

They are the bolts that go through the chassis rails and through the cross member with nuts on the bottom.
