Which ones do you mean? The water runoff sill trims which run up and over the window?

Sorry can't help you. Be careful I heard that the clips which secure them are no longer available from Toyota. Must you remove them?

shane they could be $10 each don't care. just don't wanna destroy the chrome trims - they're still perfect.
hopefully the screen dude will know how to get the things out. happy to destroy the rubbers to get em out too - not worried about them - rubbers can still be had from scotts old auto rubbers...

They are most certainly available from Toyota. They are used on a few different cars so there is an endless supply.

To remove the trims I use a variety of small flat blade screwdrivers and paint scrapers. To locate the clips, gently pry the trim towards the centre of the screen, as you come to the clip, it will resist. Place a small screwdriver or paint scraper along each side of the clip, and gently wriggle the trim. the trim will move itself over the clip nib that holds it and be released. Patience and time is the key here. As for the clips, you'll probably find all the lower clips have rusted out and will come out with the trims, the top ones will still be quite servicable, and for that same reason, you can get replacement clips from the top sections of wrecked cars too. To replace the trims, place and secure all the clips to their posts (if you break their little retaining posts, use a pop rivet to replicate the spacing of the post), then simply lie the trim over the clips and press down - you will here them clip into place by simply using finger pressure to push on them.

They are quite easy to remove.
Just have to lower the window into the base of the door (remove its arm holding bolts).
Then just pry out with a flat-head screw driver.
Since we are on the topic.... a few others.
The gutters?
RA28 small window (just behind the doors)?

greg,
with all the trouble you are going to greg I would be pulling the petrol filler neck completely out rather than tape it.
Do as CLG says, if you do the side ones first then you may be able to slide the ones at the top and bottom out of the clips this way you may not damage them by trying to jimmy it all.

through the experience of owning 7 ta22's i can tell u this. Your gonna try your farken heart out and spend endless hours doing shite like this for your car. Sometimes u will be victorious but most times u will fark it up( not cos u are shite) but because things are old. They are rusted, they have been tampered with and you'll find out that things are fragile because of this reason but it will always be too late. And what sucks is trying to find replacement parts. I still do alot of things myself but only to a certain extent. Once i hit the point of "shite, if i keep going i'm gonna bust something and regret it" i chill out, save some dough and get someone qualified to do it. Saves u the heartache and believe me mate there is plenty more to come.

well said mate actually.
i paid wizard windscreens to come and take the windows out, and, at the same time they also removed the trims.
not only did the dude have a tool to remove the trims, but, now that they are out - no damage to them whatsoever.
i'm glad i paid someone else to do it. money well spent.
