microtech fuel pump relay Mon, 05 April 2004 10:24 Go to next message
older microtech fuel computer on 5MGE, has a large brown connector (prob. 20mm square), that seems to have had a relay of somesort on the end.
dont know what sort of relay

what sort of realy is needed for the fuel pump
(5MGE ma61)

Generally fuel computers will have a relay for the fuel pump/s. This is done because one they draw a reasonable amount of current, and two they don't need to run constantly, ie. The ignition in the on position without the engine running.

p.s. its and old school screwdriver adjustable microtech D4s
heres some pics,
on the connectoer it has "amp" and "1" written in opposite corners.....

I'd be looking for your bog stock 30A automotive relay (or similar) if I was you, as long as it fits and has the normally off pin where you want it.

And even if it doesn't has the pin where you want it, you could always rewire the connector.
