you could buy a power drill and tape measure and do it yourself for the price ppl charge for "installing" them....

Why do you need / have to have bonnet pins ?
Is it the CAMS requirement as you are about to hit the racetracks ?
If it is the additional bonnet restraint system the rule book says you need, forget bonnet pins and bolt a spring loaded chain clasp under the bonnet, that loops through the bar that engages the bonnet release mechanism.

Take this link and scroll down to 'Bonnet Restraint' for a pic
of what I am trying to explain.

http://planetsoarer.com/trackday/trackday.htm

No drilling thru C/F required.
Mitch.

i wish it was this easy...

but the bonnet "flaps" on the rubber bonnet rests to either side of the hood behind the lights... its annoying as fuck at 110kph

id REALLY like professionally installed bonnet locks as its extra security with locks and also fix the issue

it is for CAMS and also for extra safety Smile

Given the problem you have described here, bonnet pins are the only way to go.
And, if you want a professional install, you will have to hunt someone down. Start at a race parts supplier and see who they recommend, or knock on the door of your local car club that specializes in rally's. They would have a list of contacts.
You could even try the CAMS office.
Good luck with it.
Mitch.

(this is a joke so dont hurt me)

here is what you do,

1. open bonet

2. install bonnet pins

3. slam bonnet as hard as you can, causing the bonnet pins to neatly punch through the bonnet

4. slip washers over bonnet pins, install pins.

on a serious note, make sure you either use the pins that dont use cable, or insulate the cable in heatshrink or something so it doesnt scratch your nice shiny carbon!

I think youll find most rally guys do the glassing themselves. And pretty much all cut the hole in the bonnet with thier own drill for the safety catches

drill i didnt say i would drill, hammer and chiesl and just smash away!hahahah bet that got your attention, sorry could resist. yes plenty of experiance drilling carbon, you need to seal the holes after you drill them as carbon will make steel rust if bare carbon touches it.
central coast work in sydney and yes better supplier than speco.

Just out of interest, where did you get this bonnet from? Or did someone make it for you?

Cheers

if your a toymod member ill do it for a $100, if your not ill do it for $200. yes done them about 12 times on carbon bonnets. you use a fine paint brush and just coat the drilled holes in resin. the pin plates cover it so you never see it. you use stainless steel screws with the pin plates and you dont get rust. can even show you on a steel bonnet on one of my cars. better if you come up and i do it at home as there are to many cars at the workshop at the moment. its at cathrine fields. i live central coast so an easy drive up and you will be able to see that it stops the flex on the way home down the freeway. ill do it will you watch if you like. you can hold the chisel!hahahah
