Hey all... I've just moved to Melbourne and I'm going back to get my car form Brisbane this weekend...
Just curious to know who here is in Melbourne... I am very keen to get back into the whole car scene once I get setup again...
Cheers Kirk

Torquay has the bitches and the surf... Portsea, Sorrento, Gunnamatta, Point Leo... All within an hour and a half of Melbourne.
But, if you want to go further there's the Great Ocean Road with surf beaches all the way along.
Quit bagging Melbourne... We've had sun with 27 degrees for the last few days and its not even Summer.

So I'm guessing from this thread so far people in Melbourne don't have a car scene... how depressing

as far as i can tell, no car scene as such, but i haven't been looking very hard.
melborune is home to the largest car club in australia, their forum is
http://forums.melbccr.com/ubbthreads.php
but people who feel at home in this forum probably wont like that forum, unless you are into technical tips like "how do i install pedal covers" not that im having a go here, just the technical knowledge level of most of those people isnt greatly high.
i dont really know how big the scene is, as my car is pretty far from what i would call "displayable"
then there is the chapel street cruising scene, and the lygon street cruising scene, there are a lot of nice roads around, Mt dandenong (Mt Akina ) and the great ocean road, im sure you could find things to do here.
good luck!

depends on what you want to do i guess .. theres no huge toyota presence thats noticable - mainly in the likes of exclusice and MCCR car clubs - who seem more lancer and syline dependant
though off this forum we do organise meets and cruises when everyones on the road and the weathers good , on a semi regulkar basis , and theres 3 suggestions being panned at the moment for cruises and meets - of which ill probabaly have to start organiseing soon for one of them ( great ocean road again )
if you want to meet and greet - theres a newly formed classic celica club , not official but theve had a growing response for oldschool cilly owners - that you might be curious to investigate.
Ill also be involved with this soon seeing ive come from oldschool cillys to the newer Gt4 but still have a very good knowelege and enthusiastic approach to older ones ( i want another next year !!!! ).
