Currently i ran into problem with my ae86 conversion, wandering if any of you guys able to give advice/tips...etc
the speedo on the sprinter i believe is mechanical (cable driven)
then engine im implanting in use electronics signal for the speedo...
I was thinking of purchasing the Autometer (speedo) guess how much it cost???......$700 even the sale guys was like shock....
do you guys have any other cheaper alternative?????

Have a look at some other transmissions - you will probably find one with a Mechanical drive that fits straight in - just make sure the gears have the same number of teeth.
For instance a Corolla Auto drive case fits into a Manual IS200 6 Speed.

more info on type of conversion being undertaken needed, you may be able to simply remove the electrical unit and replace with a mechanical item.

We put a Nissan RB20DET engine in an old Z, the new gearbox had an electrical sender, but the original L28 gearbox cable drive thing fit straight in.
So yeah, definately ways around it without changing the speedo itself.
