got loan, which engine conv should i do? gz10 soarer

Okay i got my loan so now I have a few choices to make
1st of all, i have a lower limit of 7000 and an upper limit of 8000
I wanna try stay under 700 but see how i go.
car is an mz10 soarer which had an mteu in it. no engine in it or gearbox but full loom.
all work is getting done by workshop
I want either a 1g gte installed with manual, a lot bigger custom intercooler, 3 inch mandrel exhaust and a true trac LSD
or a 1jz gte with manual installed(should i use the r154 or try get a w58 setup going?) with normal intercooler, no lsd, and 3 inch mandrel exhaust.
I really would like the 1jz, but is it possible for the money I have?.
what sort of power would both have with simple mods i listed and boosting them up?
Thanks guys

i cant say how much it would cost, but if your spending that much on a conversion, make sure its the engine you want! personally id find a way to get the JZ
but if you get the JZ please try and get an LSD

my dead stock 1g-gte dynoed at 98kw at the wheels when i first got it. I got it up to 125rwkw with air filter, exhaust. (that is an auto)
a stock 1jz will dyno around 150rwkw and with a 3" exhaust close to 165ish, twin pipes even more.
Determine a final power figure and then decide if the 1g would be up to it and also if lag is an issue that 1g may not be the best choice because of the smaller displacement.
In the other thread they said you can bash the tunnel a bit and get an r154 in there, so I would do that rather than changing to a W58. Otherwise, you may as well get an auto front cut and change to W58. Much easier to go R154 to start with, i reckon.

my JZA70 is auto,
but fuck she moves!
i threw it one the dyno and it couldnt make traction on the rollers.. the most acurate reading we got was 149.8 rwkw at 5500 rpm..
which is far from its peak performance.. anything after that and she was starting to fishtail on the rollers.
often think what my tyres would be like if my car was a manual!!!
and the answer is deffinatly bald!!!
so pretty much what im saying is. GO THE 1J! you wont regret it!

Manual 1jz + LSD = lots of fun
My near stock 1jz pulled 152.5 rwKw with standard air-filter and 2.5inch exhaust. The A/F ratios were way rich too, which is what drowned out any extra power, plus although boost started at 11psi it dropped to 9psi as revs increased.
PM Danish on these forums, he's put a 1jz in a GZ20 and has lots of trouble getting traction with his single spinner diff!
If you get a 1j, spend the money to get an emanage or something similar so you can tune it better. There's a few going very cheap in the for sale section.

Low Kms Low Kms Low Kms Low Kms should be your No. 1 priority. Check turbos if possible. Budget for replacing lots of belts and bearings and seals.
Manual front cuts can be hard to find - mine was $4500 2 years ago, although you never know sometimes they show up.
An auto will fly as well - you may decide not to bother going manual once you start driving it. MV automatics do a shift kit for the A340 trans that's supposed to be very good.

yeah.,. im going to check out a jza70 cut with r154 next week...
what would you consider okay km's on the cut?
ive got 8000 for engine
so ill be running stock cooler but getting twin dumps and mandrel exhaust
lsd, management and better cooler will be coming when i can afford them after i get the car running.
all the belts and everything are getting changed as its getting done at a workshop
this half cut is going for 2800.. so that seems a bit cheap for a manual one so i dunno how thats gonna go.. but theres no others

Congrats on the loan.
The front cut could be chaeper as it may have some damage and not have as many hang-on bits like some others do.
As others have said, wait until you get the best cut for your money.
What about money for an engineering approval ? Don't forget belts, lube etc.
If the manual is no good, go for an auto to start with, you can alwalys do a manual conversion later when you get the money
Cheers

Less than 80,000 kms is low kays, more than 100,000 is highish, esp for the turbos.
Put a single turbo on it if you've got the money - they're getting cheaper and cheaper plus will pay off in the loooong run.
My front cut was expesive but came with all panels except bonnet and a few goodies thrown in like blow-off.

its getting engineered by the shop... when it get done
ive set aside 700 budget for stupid things like belts.. oil.. screws and crap like that
and yes.. if this manual is screwed im just gonna get an auto and get all the w58 bits
whats some things to look out for on 1jz.. cause draven said k's have no indication as they are almost certainly wound back...
no money for single turbo now.. maybe later.. gotta pay to get alot done after the engine as this isnt my normal daily.. this is my second car.. so gotta get all tinting and guards re'done.. full respray and bodywork.. and swap all my suspension and electrics over.
the quote also includes custom tailshaft for the r154
im getting the mounts made custom i get(i.e.. not using the one everyone else has used for their w58 ones) so i can put the engine a little further forward..
its getting y pipe dumps and full 3 inch exhaust.. standard intercooler for now..
i gotta re-learn to drive manual in it.. as i havent driven one for AGES
dont care too much about panels
