Hi guys, The fuel gauge on my AE82 hatchback corolla CS is stuffed. When I fill up the guage shows that its about 3/4 full. When I drive on it for a bit the guage falls right back to bellow empty, and when the tank is almost empty the guage begings to work (it appears) and the fuel light also comes on.
Any suggestions as to what might be causing this and what and how much it will take to fix?
If the car has done a lot of klms?, most probable fault is the sender in the tank, but check connections first.
The resistance element wears down, becomes intermittent, especially at the lower end which gets most of the action.
