hey what about getting a pod filter on a ST184, without a AFM ~MAP sensor~ what do i have to do to it, and what length do i need to keep between the EFI And the pod filter to keep it legal in aus?

Hmm..i would assume you woundn't need a adapter then if theres no map sensor, just take of the old OEM air box and fit in the pod, but i was under the impression that only a handful of pod filters were legal and the rest were pretty much illegal, or maybe all pod's are illegal period... as in length wise from the E.F.I,hmm...i'd say no shorter then your stock vac. hose.

if they are illegal then why is it so commercally easy to get one? oh another question on that do i need to get my car retuned for run it properly, my thought was that i didn't need to but then again i don't know that much ~ a map sensor is off the EFI so it anything that happens b4 that really should matter right?~

do you know where you got the adaptor from? or a brand or anything? thanks
and yeah pods are illegal (if they are "open") but if you make a little steel shield they are legal, stupid law.

i found a good one from brisbane motor imports it was $1250 with 5 spd g/box, and thats not exchange. so i picked him up the other day and its goin in next weekend. they reakon its only done 80000kms (which is a few k's) but for a 1986 engine? i didnt believe it, but it still has a genuine timing belt, alternator and oil filter. so i dno how true that is. but yeah its all a goer. and i have a spare 3SGE, woo yeah im thinking project turbo motor.fun....
