Why would you want to butcher a great engine like the 3S-GTE? The 3S-GTE is known as a square engine. Meaning that the bore and stroke is equal(86/86mm). Why would you want to screw this up with a weak 5SFE crank?

I agree with this to an extent. There is more to this than first thought. More precisely, the 5s big ends are 4mm larger than the 3s. Meaning either the 5s crank needs to machined down or the 3s rods require machining. I know I would machine the crank before I would machine rods. Shorter pistons are also required due to the longer stroke.
Anyway, the 5s crank is actually forged like the 3s and is as strong, if not stronger than the 3s. It has been known to take huge horsepower and is equally as reliable.
Is it worth ruining a square engine for the sake of 200cc? Dunno.
Will the extra torque generated by the longer stroke be noticeable? Dunno.

you can but i believe then you have to modify some of the internals inside the engine it apparently becomes a little expensive to do it that way, at least thats the gist of things that i read.

increasing displacement by increasing stroke is a common trick, but as cool1 said, 3s is a 'square' engine and a 5s crank aint got the greatest reputation
that in mind, the 5age and the 7age, being the same thing in theory (stroker kits), did work okay for most people who went through with the conversion

Do it properly and buy a 3S stroker kit.
