Online,

Mate the seats are a few years old now and were bought from Revolution Racegear. Not sure what they are called I'm sorry.

The role cage is a custom item. Its a PITA to fit but it does stiffen the body up very nicely Smile Once the old girl is on the road again I can come with you to a metal work place to see if they can reproduce it. In fact I know a Guy who should be able to in either steel or just alloy if thats the look you want.

He will actually have the car soon for the custom Tank, intercooler and radiator so if you want I'll get him to look at it and see what he can do.

I guess you found the engine stats Wink This has varied just a little already but yeah fingers crossed it should go ok. Theres alot of uncertainties with attempting something outside the norm.

Aiming for streetable/reliable 200 RWHP. Any more would be a bonus !

Jamie and I are both have a roll cage planned so thats makes three of us. If you do any homework let me know how you get on. I was thinking about a CAMS approved 4 point cage.

Justin,

My cage is a steel unit and goes through the parcelshelf and onto the chassis rails in the boot. Both sides of which are steel plated. This makes it a MAJOR PITA to fit or remove but the rigidity it adds to the car is fantastic. Front crossover mounts to the seat belt mounting plates and the seat belts attach to the original mounts but use longer bolts asnd crush tubes. All is approved by the engineer and RTA legal Smile

Only compromise is the car is now legally a 2 seater.

Regards,

Thanks ROD, Well as you know I have the nice blue ta22 and have just had the ding in the boot fixed and a few little rust spots..
Anyway It would be great to come a round and have a chat or look as I really am after what that sort of setup. I will be painting the rollcage the same colour as the car so steel is fine..Anyway let me know who can do this for me and I will come a long with you...Well if your engine works out Im sure that smile will never end..

No worries mate, Car gets towed out in 3 to 4 weeks for extensive alloy work (Tank, intercooler, radiator, OIl air seperator and overflow bottle) so I'll let you know when its there and arrange to meet up with you.

Spoke to him today and he can deffinatly do it no worries. Happy to chat to you about it while my car is there so you can see it all.

Justin,

Mate i'm yet to see something he has not been able to reproduce so I'm sure he will have no trouble with your request. Just find out what you need to meet cams requirements and you will be laughing. I know You, Jamie and online all have a fair idea of the cost of Good custom parts but for anyone else reading this please don't expect custom work at Kmart prices. His prices are very fair for what you get.

out of curiosity Rod, how much does your rollcage add to the weight of your car? (once you've removed the back seats and all)

Draven,

I honestly do not know what the roll cage weights It is Steel tube so I f I had to guess I'd say around 20kg or more but I really have no idea. I didn't weigh it last time it was out as I was in a hury to get the car to the Last Dubbo event.

As for my Back seat I actually have the rear of the car trimmed out in a fashion that looks remarkably like a back seat of course it isn't as that would be illegal. Its a designer storage shelf Wink

The rigidity the Cage adds to the car outweights any weight increase in my opinion. Smile

Online,

No worries mate I'll give you a call Smile

Heya Guys,

Those of you interested in the roll cage can contact Tony on 0415 393 138. He has my car at the moment so can discuss it with you if your still interested in them.

BTW if you pay him a visit be VERY careful of his dog. It makes our Rottie x look like a real pussy. Whatever you do don't let yourself in even if Tony is right there in front of you !
