18rg plugs with 18rgeu electronic dizzy + other Questions Sat, 10 April 2004 06:56 Go to next message
Hi everyone i have just recently got an 18rg and im wondering what plugs i should put in the engine.

i have searched and found B6ES is the plug to use but nowhere has them there are B7ES B8ES B9ES BP6ES but no B6ES. also would these plugs be suitable for the 18rgeu Dizzy or are there another set i should use?

What oil do you guys use it is a Freshly built rg so i went for some penrite hpr 10 semi synthetic stuff. would 5 40 be better than the 10 50 i have now?

Another questions is with the Alternator Belt is this the same part as the 18rc motor? i hope so cause i just bought one...

thanks in advance

Daniel

sorry for this way OT query ... (but barges on regardless) ... but will the electrics from an 18RG dizzi fit inside an 18R dizzi?
i would like to get a standard reluctor pickup in my dizzi - it will interface with megaspark easier than the black-box Hall effect unit inside my current dizzi (is one of these<http://www.pertronix.com/ignition_products/ignitor .htm>).
anyway... if one will fit, it would be great if someone could advise.
tia, charles.

I accidently deleted my big reply so anyways.

Phil - Thanks for the plug numbers, i have the 10-50 w penrite 10 i think there was a 5-40w but i think it would be a bit thin. Ideally Mobil 1 would be good 5-50 but $65 every 5 thousand KM is a bit rich for me! When i put the 18REU dizzy in i will let u know. u still havent come to borrow the GEU dizzy Razz but i need it now. Do you still have the twin K&N filters?

Charles - the GEU dizzy will fit into the RC dizzy by dimentions but the GEU dizzy doesnt look very serviceable i.e hard to dissasemble the magnetic pickup comes off easily but the lobe looks difficult (which is why i didnt try it myself). I have been told that the 21rc and 22re dizzies are very similar to the RC ones and it is easy to put on. I have also been informed that the internals from a L300 van fit in the 18rc/rg dizzy and the cam lobes are the same (as the RG). it was some guy on the forums perhaps a search would show his post as i dont know wich L300 van Sad . I also have the standard stand alone igniter if that is any help for part numbers etc.

my MSN is dtfeldman@hotmail.com if u want any info on the parts

Hope this helps
