It's running the standard GT-Four diff isn't it? There's no way a T-series will last a week behind that engine...

AFAIK, it's running the standard ST185 diff. Tailshaft was shortened but that was about all that was done to the drivetrain rearwards of the gearbox.

Good morning and welcome to a weekend that was filled with fun and excitement ;)For those who missed it....hehehehe...you got nothing! For those who went, there was much fun to be had!
Aside from the frikking locust swarm that we just happened to run into, and the minor overheating problem we ran into about Merriwa or something, the JT Racing crew arrived in one piece (although kinda detached from one another).
Show n Shine's turnout was well presented, I figured after a night of malibu n coke, I rose a little too late for a good look around, but managed to score a few lil photos of a few lil shiny cars. The turnout at Autobarn was a little miserable, for such a major sponsor, I figured a few more cars would spare some time to park up and wander around.
Decided against attending the BBQ Saturday Night (ok fine, no-one told us it was on, and I didn't read the line-up of activities that was in the Shannons showbags ) had an early night and woke up bright and early to get to the drags. However, congrats goes to Danny, for organising the trip to the Zoo! Luckily after posing the question of 'where's everyone disappeared to' it was remembered that therew as talk of a Zoo trip, so we headed over there and had the bestest of afternoons looking at all the lil animals
How's the saying go "Men can't follow directions and women can't read maps"? or is it "Men don't ask for directions and women can't read maps"? Either way, there was a 50% chance of me deciding on the right Mitchell Highway, and I chose the wrong one (yes yes ok, so I missed the little map that had an arrow that says "To Drags Sunday" )
A suspected problem with the coil packs signified an early exit for the skyline, and after my first official "drag" running a high 10 (read: it was my first ever drag and first ever drive of the skyline...hehehe and I beat the Supra ), I was happy to leave the day, knowing that I'd had the best weekend possible Although, I'll certainly see what I can do about returning next year for the girlie showdown *something about having to run a certain supra when its clutch isn't slipping*
Cheers
GvS
p.s. yesss this is a cut n paste job...I'll get someoen to delete my obsolete thread later *looks around for Danny*

It was an awesome weekend, great to finally put names to faces, and cars to names.
The drive out was a tad 'fast' but thoroughly enjoyable (the supras suspension ROCKS). Friday night was daaaaaamn funny (Stitt looks GOOD in red, photos to come...) drinking to the wee hours prevents early entry to the show and shine. Seeing Miss22 knee Norbs in the balls was not kool "I'm not in a position where I'd want an erection right now".
Toobs said a few harmless words to JTracing headman who got *just* a little cut up about the fantastic snakelike handling of his locker ute. From this stemmed the quote "JTracing can't turn corners"
Come sunday at the drags, Norbie reinforced and made a slight addition to the catch cry above, producing "Yeah, and they aren't that fast either"
The weekend was a great success.
All three of us will be back next year with our cars.

is that the nissan ute? I do think he had consumed a little too much alchamhole when he suggested cuting up ANY car to impress people is fine (each to there own I guess) but I dont think his suggestion of cuting up the only MA46 in good condition left on the roads in australia was exactly correct.
Anyway plenty of trailer queens there, sort of a waste of a car if you cant drive it normaly but that was offset but the cars actualy driven there

Aaah the trip home - Johnny's KECOOP shit a fuel pump 40k's on Dunedoo side of Merriwa. Andy and I tried to get an idea of how to make his old Walbro in-tank jobby work, so that Johnny could get home, we were at the paper and pen stage of developing the idea when I went into the servo to buy some hose clamps - MIfuckingRACULOUSLY they had a VL holden external pump there - brand new in the Holden genuine parts box! $234 later (dearest stock pump that you will see) and we got him going again...
Johnny was then on his way home, tried to pass about 50 cars in one go and piston number 6 was minus a ring land. If you think that 3T's are 4 cyl and he therefore coud not have damaged number six - we are talking consecutive engine rebuilds
The best weekend. Good to beat that tuff Yellow ute too

I had an awesome time as expected. It was great to catch up with everyone and ogle all the cool Toyotas, especially Justen Simpson's mind-blowing GT4 - what an incredible piece of machinery that is, and a real credit to him.
The low point of the weekend was obviously the unprovoked nut-kicking incident, and the less said about that the better, but apart from that I had a blast! Oh, having to see Stitt in the above outfit was also a low point, and once again the less said about that the happier I'll be.
And just to clarify, Justen's GT4 has a T series diff which happens to be standard equipment in an ST185. I'm not an expert on GT4's but this is what Justen told me and he definitely knows his shit! Apparently it has a 2.9:1 final drive ratio also, which according to my calculations should be enough to break the sound barrier.
I'm already looking forward to next year's nationals. You'd better race next time Ed, you girl!

Quote: | That was the fully maddest sick drag ever habib! 2 fully sick fly chiks in full sick high performance cars kicking it down the 1/8th mile was da sickest sight uleh!!!
I'm so very greatful that my girl isn't just my handbag and can boost and make me proud. "We're going drag for drag, but you can drive for as long as you want!...what's mine is yours"

Ahhhhhh now THATS better I think someone was a little proud of my performance in his car tho after all, for my first official drag and first time driving the car! I only pulled in .8 or so greater than his time...and that car is his daily driver!
