Questions for all you mkIII supra owners Sun, 11 April 2004 13:10 Go to next message
Hi Guys,

Basically after a few ideas to jazz up my mkIII Smile

I've been reading a bit about pod filters and someone was telling me the other day they are illegal. Just looking for some confirmation on that or if anybody is using them and found any good/bad points about them...

Also, I've been slowly working on installing a sound system and finally have most of what I need. I've got my nice head unit and some ok door speakers. Got my amp and 12inch sub and will get some 6x9. However, being that the mkIII doesn't have a parcel shelf and half the boot is taken up with the spare tyre, just wondering what others have done? Ok, really obvious, I COULD take the tyre out, but knowing my luck - as soon as I do that I'll get a flat....at least I can listen to some music while I wait for the racv haha... But yeah, if anybody has any ideas or has done it (photos would be good), I would greatly apppreciate it.

Also, looking for some new rims - can anybody suggest some common ones that look good and fit comfortably, or a decent place to get them in Melbourne? Probably looking at 17/18inch.

Lastly, any other minor (inexpensive-ish) mods that are worth doing while I save up for my turbo engine?

Thanks heaps for your help guys

Cheers, Darcangel

Re Pod filters, here in WA they will hit you up for about $30 for a permit to have a pod filter. Once you have that, they are perfectly legal. May be different in VIC tho...

Hey, What I have done is sourced a Space saver wheel instead of the big bulky spare wheel. Plenty of room for subs now.
