18rg electronic dizzy

hey,
well i put my 18rg electronic dizzy in and it dont go all the way in there is bout 3mm more for it to go.. everything seems to be the same length as the mechanical one i was wondering if anybody would know why it isnt going in?

the mechanical one that i have been using was from my old 18rc and worked fine
my 18rg electronic dizzy is the same where it mounts inside the engine but it just dont go all the way in

Would it happen to be getting stuck on the o-ring.
If you have a half decent o-ring, it can be really quite difficult to get it in that last little bit.

i have a 18rgeu elec dizzy and a coil and ignitor from a 22re (RA60) i think does anyone know if i need anything else to hook it up cause im a bit confused with as the manual says that it may need a resistor in the wiring diagram and mine didnt come with anything???

na it isnt getting stuck ont he seal.. i took the seal off and tried it without a seal and still did the same thing.... it stops just where the seal gets covered a lil bit before it

I guess check that the teeth are meshing with the idler gear on the front of the idler shaft. If you have another dizzy just check that they roll around each other smoothley.

yeah it is weird... the teeth seem to be going in ok but then again the part where the teeth is mounted just underntath it has been tampered with.. i filed that part round and gonna try it tonight.

well it ried it and ti didnt work....
i have heard that the 21r and 22r ones fit i was wondering if this is true and works fine?

take the old one out and sit it next to the new one and see if theres a difference in lenght
also measure the length from where the bolt goes thru to the very tip of the shaft

sounds to mee like the dizzy is not meshing with the oil pump key way on the botom of the dizzy. if you remove the dizzy and use a long screwdriver to turn the oil pump you need the flat at the bottom of the dizzy shaft to engage into the slot of the oil pump, it may take several goes for it to lign up because as you insert the dizzy the shaft will turn as it engages the gear drive

the dizzy dont run the oil pump at the bottom of it like the 18rc does
