MR2 Snorkel.. how/where/price

Hi
I have 90 model turbo MR2
I'm looking to fit one air snorkel
I'm really not sure what kind of cost is involved in this or what is involved in fitting it
I found one here:
http://www.xracing.com.au/htm/accessories.html
anyone bought from this place before?
Note the MR2 snorkel half way down the page on the right. Is this the "normal" snorkel people have? Looks kind of fat to me.. but they gave me a price of $200 on special + $20 shipping.. so i just need to get an idea if this is a good quality snorkel and if its a fair price, and how much fitting it would be

that looks like a tom's / tom's copy, they are a simple fit, all you do is unbolt the little side pannel next to the engine lid and the snorkel bolts in its place.
I have no idea how much theyre worth, maybe check ebay for prices..

IMO it wouldnt do shit for a turbo mr2. Your intercooler is on the other side of the engine bay ( assumung it has the stock one )
The natural flow of air goes from underneith, up and through the bonet vents. What will you achieve by pushing air down at air that is coming up??? Fuck all!
Hey man, dont get me wrong i think they look good but unless you duct the air to the bottom of the engine bay so it is forced up i cant see any substantial cooling effects.
My 2 cents......

and i imagine to duct the air to the bottom of the engine bay, that would require quite a bit of work
do you think that would be a worthwhile mod?
Or am i better off spending my money on something else... I have around $400 to spend. Apart from the snorkel, I cant think of any mods to get done for that price range besides working on my sound system. was hoping to get something done performance related though

Duct is cheap. But what would you want to cool with it?
If your car is stock then just save up a bit more to get something done.
Remember, if you do things on the cheap now, don't cry later cause you didn't get heaps of power.
It's bullshit how much stuff for cars cost but hey....What can you do. You want something nice then your just going to have to save up and pay for it.
I'm just being realistic thats all

ok here car mate $250 - 300 cant remember then will have to get it rubed back and painted!
its only going to feed the intake (air filter) so its usley if ur still using the std air filter (in a closed box.... not only that ur still wasting ur time if u have you if filter setup right get it right next to the std vent on the side of the car, that will do just as much if not more.
And personal opion they look F$%kin shockin they wreck the cars sleak look.
also the rear lights u have to find them first the cost varys also you will need the center plastic also (may need to be paited again, due to wrong color etc.)
and if u want the mr2 sticker which sits in the middle 25$ from toyota and then the boot lock is different if u still wanna use the boot lock then it will cost u another 90$ just for the lock, then if u wanna keep the same key have to go to a locksmith so he can do shit to the barel, so that just one key can be used.
putting the lights in is easy however you will have to hit ur car with a hammer for the new lights to fit in as they need a bit more clearnace.
the above is all said with experance... i have done the lights various times now... also brought a snorkle for test purposes and sold it the same week! that was a waste of money!
good luck
