ive just finished this conversion on my sprinter, its a 1984 aus spec sprinter with a few add ons like wheels etc. currently being resprayed. ill post more pics and info when the car is back. heres a pic of the engine bay, note that since these photo ive cleaned up the engine bay a lot by hiding/neatening the wiring, changing to a thermofan and deleting unused air con lines/fuel lines etc.

What about a Lotus Twin-Cam engine that they shoved in ye olde Mk 1 Escort/Lotus Cortina
Smile

Nice engine btw! Is it actually streetable (legal emissions) or you just more concerned with getting it going at the moment? Also, you may want to look up some of the running in the engine info in the tech section. Running in an engine and doing a dyno run aren't mutually exclusive! In fact, after the first 100 kays you should be able to chuck the thing on a dyno.

Btw, did you tune the carbies with the trumpets + socks? Because if there is a difference in the air flow then it can actually cause leaning out (my brother's rally car had that problem and boy did it get toasty!).

i couldnt understand the first few replys for a sec. i forgot about that sig. its more of a retorical statement as its based on personal opinion. yes i tuned the carbs with the trumpets. no its not legal yet but im a mechanical engineer so ill get it there. the dyno run is coming soon, the car's done about 500 k's now but the dyno blokes been booked up, well see what happens.
