hi everyone again, umm as everything else in my car my tacho doesn't work properly, i rather desides to work when i feels like, but never to the point where i will go to the redline. if its warm then she'll rev to 4G when she seems more like shes doin 8 ~ not the smartest thing in the world, never-the-less don't try the this at home kiddies~ neways i figure its a loose wire, ne other idea on what it is? ~if it helps its a celica ST184~ in the morning you'll be lucky if the tacho moves off 0 at idle. i dunno what wrong with it i may take it to an auto electrican this week.

The Commodore problem is classic, and common to many Australian cars for many years (namely Ford and Holden!). On the Celica I'd maybe try substituting the ignitor for another one, after checking the wires/connections etc. of course!

okay the car never made it the the electrican, but i know whats wrong with it, a mechanic friend told me as he had to fix one in the same model car, apparently its the lube they use in it, as it ages it turns to glue and yeah as you can imagine the needle doesn't move the way i should, with this being said to fix it you need to remove the dash and spray CFC's or something in it and it will work fine, be warned to not spray it on the white as that shows thru to display. when we fix mine up i'll let you all know what you need to spray on it as i'm not to sure right now.
