SICTOY

I was driving on the way into work this morning & saw a Red celica called "Sictoy" take off from Chapel street onto Dandenong Road & seemed to take off pretty well...
Does anyone know what's in it & / or who it is?

I can't remember the fella's name, but its got a 3tgte, high flowed turbo, front mount, early wolf fuel only computer, and is currently putting out some where in the range of 160 kilowatts at the rear wheels! And from what I've heard he will be upgrading to a current wolf 3D and coil packs, instead of the stock ignition that he is running now.

Sounds like a nice machine... do you know if the owner ever visits these forums?
I'm curious to know some more about the car... like is the turbo a highflowed CT-20, or something else? How much boost he is running? Who tuned it? Does it still run stock internals? etc...
I just took my TA-22 over to Adelaide for the long weekend. I built it up nearly 8 years ago & has been sitting in my shed for the last 4 years...
I have been in the process of "resurrecting" it over the last couple of months & my best mate has started a new tuning shop over there & is going to give it a tweak or 2 on his dyno (for free!)
If all goes well, I hope to have it out at Phillip Island for the next sprint meet on the 30th of May.

Not sure if he is online or not, but i have got some info on the car. The motor is bog stock apart from a set of RX7 injectors, the turbo is a high flowed CT20, and it runs 12 pound boost. Rank rotary did and do the work on it. They also do the Green TA22 with the nissan rims that was at easternats (its got a 3tgte as well) and on of the boys there is in the middle of doing a 1GGTE swap into his RA28.

I saw that green Celica at the Easternats, it looks like a nice car.
I was interested in what he had under the bonnet...do you know how he went about the engine work with the original auto transmission? I'd say it would be one of very few to have a turbo engine with the auto behind it.
Do you know him, kool22?

I've meet him a couple of times, but I can't say I know him.
I'm guessing, but I think it would be a pretty easy exercise to fit a 3tgte into a auto TA22. I pretty sure it would be just a case of removing the flywheel from the motor and replacing it with the flexplate from your motor, and bolt it up. I did the reverse when I put my 3T in my car. The 3T was conected up to an auto when I got it, so I just took the auto related bits off (ie. flexplate, bell housing etc) and bolted up the manual stuff. And as a 3tgte is a souped up 3T, which is a souped up 2T, I'm guessing it should be easy. Then you just got to worry about the rest of the stuff (ie. engine mounts, fuel pumps, computers etc)

Thanks for the info, Shannon.
I have been thinking of putting in a different engine for a while.
Do you think the auto is holding back that Green TA22 that was at the Easternats?

Not sure if it would be holding it back, but as you lose more
power through an auto than you do though a manual I guess it would a bit.

Has it got a weird bonnet scoop on it?
I have seen one, maybe it was called "TOYCEL" or something, I forget now.

This car you talk about, is it a red ta22 with a body kit. If so the car has spent a bit of time a pet performance in thomastown.

yeah, I saw it on st Kilda rd in the city. Did a few head checks to have a good look at it. The annoying thing is I was driving my mums barina so he didn't recognise the 22.
By the way, got a few hrs to spare? go to Mt Hotham and drive down to Harrietville - the most fun I've had in a car.
