Next Stage For Cressida

Well i have 40 days of suspension to make best use of so its time to finish the cressida and add the next stage.
-Turbos come off on the weekend and i will fix the leak from the gasket and add Twin pipes -Also i'll put in the new auto that i've had for months now, so i will finally experience 2nd and 3rd gear without it slipping.
Should but fun and good for a 12.7 1/4mile as that is what joey's limo from newcastle ran at the creek on Street tires in full fat arse luxo form GOtta love that!

is this the same person putting a new auto trans in whom i remember saying in a previous post stalling up the motor to wait for boost to kick in does not damage the gear box???

haha... flames might reduce once the air leak is fixed It is impressive though isn't it Nearly burnt john's eyebrows as we hit the crest
Gearbox... i don't remember saying it is ok for the gearbox to stall it up. Of course it does shorten the life, but it isn't because of me doing this that my gearbox is stuffed. It has been stuffed for a long time since i put it on the motor cause i did it the wrong way and stuffed the seal.

hey, I've been meaning to ask this for a while Luke... what did you cop the suspension for? and did you do your conversion mostrly yourself, or pay someone to do it? (I assume from the gearbox comment you did it yourself)

suspension for 36kph over limit. Very late at night, noone round, cop hiding. i wanted to say, havn't u got something better to do.
Had mates help me with engine mount welding, wiring was done by mos and a few others swinging on spanners. I got my hands dirty but in no way will i say i did it all myself!! hehe

nothing blew in the engine, the mount for the intercooler broke and shifted the intercooler right. This put pressure on the intercooler pipe and kept blowing off the right pipe. As it was a sunday i could only get cheapo clamps and they kept breaking so i was stuffed. Added, a freaky alarm / barrery / who knows what made my car not start at the mobil. Its never done it since!!
Luke
ps... no such thing as a common prob with 1j's STRONG MOTOR

Must be something in the air??? It seems a few 1J owners are taking their cars to the next level.
VL1JZGTE- Microtech MTL?- 12, Big cooler and a single turbo on the way.
Pete- Motec M800 , TD06 and 45mm Gate, Bigger squirters, shiny cam covers(Rice??) and a new coat of paint.
(the sad thing is i have all of this stuff in my room and not on my car)

Err...MX83 @ 1700kgs? WTF?? Has someone put bags of cement in the boot, and a few Rugby forwards in the cabin??
For the record, mine "tares" at 1275kg, according to the rego papers...

Shane's car looks (and is) a fair bit different since the magazine.
Big front mount, chopped front bar, exhaust changes - really good work too.
