im currently looking to buy an AE86 but by being on these forums has sorta taught me more about this car and how difficult it is to own a decent one and keep it so i thought id have a backup car if my hachi roku plans fall through. what i wanted to know is people thoughts and opinions on this car and if it is a wise and realistic option. Skyline R32 4door

Well, I am sure the standard response here would be. Nissan!!!

However, I would say it's not too bad. Thing about those is that they are sorta quick to begin with and performance upgrades are easy to come by because there are so many of them (and popular). So if you like it, why not.

lol yer i know but ppl on these forums know alot more than what i do so i thought id ask every if its a nissan. i sorta like it because the fact that its common but different, there isnt many 4doors( nice ones ) going around but 2 doors are more common so parts etc are easy to come by. also cheap to buy, insurance is cheaper and if i wait 1 year no compliance needed

Is there any reason why you want 4 doors instead of 2 doors? the extra 2 doors just add weight and look uglier.

True the 4 door is cheaper to insure, but as soon as you say "turbo" in the sentence most people automatically hike the price by $1500 or so. Also if you are under 15 there is basically only one place that will insure you (Just Car) and they are astronomical. I was quoted $4750 for my MA71 turbo worth $10k.

Ah yeah. Whoops. I meant 25.
You could do that, but as soon as you put the turbo in, you would have to inform them of the fact and they would hike the price. If you didnt tell them and had a crash you might as well not have insurance and you just wasted all that money.
That is unless you can take the turbo out and convert it back into a N/A car before anyone arrives.

How do you have a back-up car if you don't even have a car in the first place at all?

If you are in the market for a 4 door skyline in the R32 series.. Why not go for a Cefiro. They are factory 4 door. Also are accompanied by the RB20DET as are the R32's.
I would look into a cefire.. Some very nice examples out there. And they would be cheaper then a R32 aswell i think..
