hey guys, i was just wondering roughly how much it would cost to transplant a 4a-ge engine into my 86. what parts are needed and how much will it all cost.thanx

quite a common question to ask..
check the in the tech sectino for articles.
Drive in drive out conversions in melbourne range from $3k to $7k. (bluetop).
not bad.

sorry i dont have 10k to buy a 4age trueno coupe! 3-7k man thats way to much for a 20yr old engine.

its not the engine you are paying 3-7k for, it is the labour and sourcing things like fuel pumps and ecu's etc! dont talk about 4a-ge's like they r crap, believe it or not 4a-ge's came in other newer cars, so not all of them are "20 yrs old" it is a proven engine, and if you are serious then rebuild it! or that might be a bit pricey! , simple rule ( there are exceptions ) u get what u pay for! good luck

Computer
Wiring loom
EFI fuel tank (Or external fuel pump)
New Clutch.

4ac engine loom CANNOT be used on a 4ag.
