E-Way tags

Hey guys,
Got my E-Way tag, but it's just too butt ugly to stick behind my rear vision mirror.
Has anyone mounted theirs anywhere else (I was thinking at the bottom of the windscreen or at the top left hand side). Or do you know where you can place it so that it is read by the toll?
I'm thinking of just holding it up as I drive through the tolls.....
It really is big and ugly...

I think that the fact that everyone puts them at the top of the windscreen is for a purpose... I spose holding it up would work okay...

Yeah you can hold it up a the top of the windscreen, that works fine, I have seen it but I believe they do work at the bottom too.. the only problem with them are late model Mercs (S classes), Porsche's (911), Audi's (A/S8,S6 and S4) and some BMW's (M3), the dame thing doesn't work due to the Special water/light sensitive film on the windows. I'm forever ringing up for my dad's S class and they say at a certain part of the window (somewhere near the bottom or top) they sohuld work, but F!#@ed if I can find it!!

Maybe you could just wind down the window and hold it out the window... That would have to work...

Johnny, there's a spot where the rain sensor is isn't there? Mounting it there might work...

I've got a square of velcro stuck to the inside top drivers side corner of my windscree, and just stick it up as I go through. There was no way I was mounting it right in the middle at the top of the w'screen.

Only one way to find out!!!!
Melbourne E-tags work fine just holding them up, I believe in some cars you can just have them sitting on the centre console. Depends on the angle to the Toll Station.

If someone was to rip it off, how would they know what it is used for??? Like the bridge, tunnel or any freeway like the M2, M5 and so forth...

BTW, now that you're a registered E tag holder, you can just leave it at home, and each time you go through the E tag toll without paying, they'll take a photo of your car and either deduct your acount or send you a letter. Be prtepared though, I almost had a heart attack when I came home to find 3 letters from the RTA all adressed to me.
Anyway, all I have to do is write down the no. on the back of the E tag & fax 'em back to the RTA.

I never thought of that cause I never knew how they operated... But still, if they did that, if it didn't beep on the first one, there's a fine... If it doesn't work on the 2nd one, there's a fine... And so on... I dunno about you, but I wouldn't steal one unless I was certain what it was for... Not that I would steal one though...
