doesn't help that they quote the incorrect torque figures for the 2jz-gte vvt-i version
but still, I'd be all for a 2 door 4wd 2jz-gte monster - GTR killer

It would be close. 2jz turbo, 4wd, depending on curb weight and handling characteristics something like this could give a gtr a run for it's money.
Pitty it doesn't exist

Unfortunately I doubt it... the GTR is what it is through countless years of race breeding... a long process of evolution... these things were designed to compete in the Group A touring cars against europes best... and probably were the sole reason for its demise... demolition all who stood between them and the finish line... to conclude... they rock!!! Yeah...

Yeah i think the theoretical celica could definatley give the GTR a run for its money, but with the 2jz and beefy looks this seems more like a new soarer or supra, a lighter design and engine would be more likley.

I guess it is a bit soarerish. At the time I designed it the new soarer was just relased but I had not heard anything about a new celica. I decided to design a Lexus Celica. so its a bit "Luxy".
Now that I look back at it I can see that I made a silly mistake with the shape of the door. It should be slightly larger and more rounded.
Also the 3 door model is a bit short.
oh well. i was young and foolish.

isnt there somehting like an awd Chaser out there already with 2jz power ?
as for celica gt4 .. it should stay closer competing with WRX and evo - Supra was designed to run up against GTR and RX7
AWD supra .. now theres a better idea if were photoshopping

yep, chasers come out with AWD 2jz-ge models in japan. These aren't available for importing though as they are classified as a sports car like the turbo model.
A "gte" swap is a popular conversion on these cars and from what I have heard from a couple of people over there, is that there are quite a few that will seriously surprise the average GTR/Supra driving street racers!

ok i don't think that that will be the next celica. Yes i believe that it could be a car to be released but i don't think it will be under the name celica. I like the design, don't get me wrong, but i can see it as more of a IS200.

The front lights & grill are from an ST210 Corona/Avensis.
Back is from a Chaser I think.
Not a bad fotoshop job tho.
