Removing 1G-GE from bay... almost!

Hi all,
I've almost got the 1G-GE out of my engine bay, but i'm faced with a problem - the gearbox simply wont let go of the engine! Every bolt has been unbolted so it must be just the input shaft now. What methods should I use to get past this?
Thanks.

are the weight of both engine and box being supported? are the locating dowels a bit rusty?
make sure that the weight is taken properly, and that they are still alinged, and maybe lever off with appropriately placed screwdriver, one on each side?

We've been levering with screwdrivers, but there's a chance they're slightly mis-aligned from all the tugging I'll try again tommorow, perhaps with a nice large jack under the gearbox!

mate, just rip er off.. mate she'll be right.
get a crowie in there...
stuff i've done in the past:
hoist the engine box so it's vertical, box output shaft pointing to the ground, that way there is no load side load on the input shaft, and gravity lends a hand with the pulling part.. have a few people around to help wobble it off..
Otherwise a bunch of tires supporting engine and box and slowly pull/wobble off.
Is it even begun to seperate? ie, how wide is the 'crack' between the bellhousing and engine?
If there is no crack, have no fear to got nuts with a screwdriver.. there is usually a slow 'designed' for it somewhere.
If it's off more than a cm, and you can feel a 'spriggy' feeling, youve got your input shaft stuck a bit in the clutch..
just use force... as long as it's STRIAGHT force though!!!
Good luck.

ahh bugger.... i've had the exact same thing happen.... except the box had cleared the locating dowels... no amount of levering and tugging would get it off!!!
and then the bastard just slipped out!!!!! grrrrrr
anyhoo, there's hope for you yet
good luck!!

should be fine depending on the pickup location, you may have to swap that - if there is an o ring on the pickup REPLACE it don't omit it.
also a nice bead of silastic and/or new gasket will stop leaks.
