Guess everyone here has sometimes in their life recieved a fine where they didnt commit an offence. So just want to know who here actually dispute the offence and won.

yeah i got a speeding fine just recently actually....approx a month or so ago.
I had a look at it and think bugger this i dont have the money.....i try and look up the address of the offence location in a sydney street directory for the sake of it (good ol UBD i thinks). Couldnt find it. I ask my parents have i lost it or does this place not exist. Then we look at the letter and its from the ACT !!! i haven't left sydney for over a year.

Also another thing is that when u get personalised plates, they give u temporary plates to put on (blue slip cases). The license plate on the letter was my temporary one....and i had gotten rid of my temporary plate the day b4 the offence. Hence my letter to them was rather crude and to the point and they sent an apology back.

Obviuosly sending the temporary plate back to the RTA, they somehow still managed to keep my name on the temp plates....some ppl ey

Not very exciting story but just shows how unpro some ppl can be

Yeah one time i got a parking ticker in the mail, and im like wtf!
i read the letter n all $69 or something like that and i look up the street and im like ive never been there and the time stated was the same time i would be at work and i dont even drive to work during the week. so went ahead and typed up a letter explaining the situation and a week later get a letter of apology saying it was there error and so on and the fine was cleared. so it was just an error but it does put u out of the way to clear it up. cheaper than paying for the fine tho!
