If your car was origianly distributored then you will have to screw around a bit to get your dash tacho to work. They work on the voltage spike from your coil. AFAIK, the microtech will be outputting a 5V square wave for the tacho.
So plugging your microtech tacho output into your stock sprinter tach wont work. I tried this and had my tacho going with my indicators.
There is a reasonably simple fix, so if this sounds like your situation then let me know and I'll send you a circuit diagram.

If your talking about the circuit that uses diodes and a resistor it doesn't last too long; gets too hot and fries the components. My mates auto electrician tried it twice before using a Sixworks Tacho Booster. Never had one bit of trouble after that.

or a vr4 galant tacho adaptor, wire the inputs from the neg of each coil, out put to tacho, easy, works with both digital and analogue tacho's.
