Canberra Celica Group (CCG) Meeting & Cruise

Due to popular demand......the CCG has planned the following events for the up coming weeks!!
Firstly, due to the great success of the meet a few weeks ago when Nark was in town, we are holding the August meeting at the Canberra Labour Club in Civic at 7.30 pm, 28 August 2002. Bit of a get-together for a beer and a chat about all things TOYOTA, well out of the cold.
Secondly, we have had so many requests for a CCG cruise in September that we have arranged for a cruise down the coast to Batemans Bay on Sunday 15 September 2002. Thats plenty of time to clear your Sundy and get your wheels ready. We will advise more details here in the near future. Of course all TOYOTAs are welcome to join in for the run....the more the merrier!

Great to hear!
Looks like we have a lot of interest from all over the place so the we have decided to make the location to meet up as the MacDonalds at Queanbeyan at 9am, departing for the Bay at 9.30am.
Of course everyone (read anything Toyota) are welcome to join in for the run!

If, (and it's a BIG if!  ), I can get the Cressida finished (ie. back from the blokes putting the 1UZ into it and actually wire the thing myself), then I may actually be able to come down...
I'll keep interested people (are there any?) posted on this thread...

Phil and I were thinking about this and thought that if any of the TOYMODS guys (or any TOYOTA Guys!)are interested in joining our cruise, they could meet us at Batemens Bay at about 12 noon instead of the 9am morning start.
After meeting up at the Batemens Bay we are just heading down the coast road to Malua Bay to get someething to eat, talk all thing TOYOTA and and throw Phil into the surf!!
Spread the word.

All went well with the cruise to the coast.
Thanx to Mitch and Phil for organising the trip, was a success with no hick-ups apart from wondering why we went the long way to get from Batemans to Malua bay (i thought it was a great scenic drive  ). The weather was great!
The fish and chips were great, ice-cream even better but the highlight of the day was probably the 1G RA23 owned by Gordon jump starting a Jag.
Will have to organise something similar in the near future, was a great day.

Ah damn, i missed out 
I'll be sure to make it next time though, hope i can get my bare metal respray finished and the new motor in by the time we have another cruise (or by the Nats for that matter.

No worries mate. Phil and I were just admiring your beastie when I noticed the intercooler bolt was very loose. Hate to think that it would drop out on the trip home.
I have a yellow 22 (Tweety) that Phil is welding up for for me before I get a respray later in Jan. Going for the very bright yellow look. Sure wasnt popular, like it is now, when I bought my yellow Tweety many years ago!
Maybe your Toymods guys might like to meet up with the CCG in Goulbourn one day. We are only a 50 strong social club (thats with lurkers) so very small in comparison.
